This is especially true if you are developing a new online presence for your business and have no idea of what to expect. We provide this explanation of the website design process to clarify each step of the design process for a successful website.
The main concepts of well-designed websites include:
- Fresh Content: Keep your website updated with fresh content to maximize visitor experience and keep search engines returning to your website. A website that is updated consistently with fresh content will rank higher than a website that has stayed the same for a long period.
- Navigation: Simple, easy to follow, navigation is extremely important. A website needs to be functional and work properly while still appealing to the eye. Your visitors should never have to search to find what they need.
- Search Engine Friendly Pages: Your pages need to be optimized to ensure that search engines can "read" your content. This consists of Meta-tags, ALT tags for images, text replacement for Flash elements, etc. In addition, this will make your website more accessible for the visually impaired.
THE PLANNING STAGE
Our website design process consists of three phases. The first of which is Planning.
Website planning begins as soon as you have contacted our office. We will obtain from you all information pertaining to your project and present you with a quote. If you accept the quote, we will ask you to sign a contract outlining our agreement.
Once we have a signed contract, we will create for you a mock-up design to ensure we are heading in the right direction. Next - stage two - Design.THE DESIGN STAGE
During this stage, we will create your website using a variety of different applications. We will build your navigation structure, pages, and graphical elements.
We will ask you to provide us with all text and images that you want utilized on your website.
During this stage, we will test the website for cross-browser compatibility and any other issues that might need attention. Once approved, we prepare your website for publication to your domain name. We have now reached the final stage - Launch.THE LAUNCH
The website launch consists of publishing your new website to your own domain name. Once your website is launched, our involvement with your website does not stop there. Move2HigherGround is available to maintain your website by making any changes that you need made on an ongoing basis for an additional hourly fee. We have web hosting packages that incorporate this hourly rate into the hosting charges for companies who need a few hours of maintenance consistently every month.
